How does the EggMATE work? Utilizing a positive reinforcement approach for teaching students how to hold a violin correctly, Harmonious Designs has developed a device that affixes to the instrument with a non-adhesive attachment method, completely independent of the player. Nothing that attaches to a student’s wrist to deliver pressure if they hold their wrist incorrectly! The device helps a student learn how to align their wrist in the proper upright position by guiding the ball of their hand away from resting against the neck of the instrument. The EggMATE helps the student foster “procedural or muscle memory” for proper wrist posture while not inhibiting the player’s finger reach. Over time it becomes second nature to hold the wrist in proper alignment with the instrument.
